The Hickory Aviation Explorers are all about planes. We are involved with the EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin each year. We volunteer to work the show. We get behind the scenes and work with the planes.

Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at Hickory Airport in the Terminal.

.: What Do We Do?

When people show up to our group, the first question they ask is, "what do you guys actually do?" Well I am here to hopefully answer your question.

We are a group of enthusiastic people that love airplanes. We try to get to see and/or work as many air shows that we can. We also look at the many different fields of aviation. We learn what job opportunities are out there for a career. We have guest speakers come and talk to us about these different jobs. Another large thing that our group has the opportunity to do is work on getting a pilots license. Many individuals from our group fly and have won awards for competitions.

Bradley, a member of the group, has become nationally renown for his precision landing, excellent flying, and for giving rides for the Young Eagles Program.
