London, KY was the first stop on the way to Oshkosh. I took one other person along and neither one of us are light so I was fuel limited to 3 hours of flight. I tried to stop every 2 hours to stretch my legs.
This was the second stop on the way to Oshkosh at roughly the halfway point. This was quite the multi-purpose complex where the local FBO also doubled as the bowling alley.
DeKalb, IL was my final stop before reaching Oshkosh. Refueling here gave me the necessary reserves for me to feel comfertable flying into the show. Fuel prices usually govern my refueling stops especially nowadays with gas prices so high. Many thanks to the Local EAA chapter for providing the hot dogs.
We finally made it to Oshkosh after a full day's travel. I volunteer up there every year parking and directing airplanes in the custom/homebuilt area. Coming in is a breeze if you listen to my secret:
come in at least 2 days before the show starts.
